Heuchera plant

KatstezKatstez Posts: 19
Hi, my purple heuchera is looking sorry for itself. I’ve cut off all the dead flowers and leaves over last couple of nmonths. Not sure if you are suppose to. Has it just finished for this year or have I done something wrong. Thank you.

I have lifted and washed the roots potted in new compost and got Heucheras going again , if you have vine weevil get the nematodes

Also, take some cuttings, they root easily and if the plant does not survive then you have a replacement.

They also tend to push themselves out of the soil, so if you lift it to check out the root syste, replant it so that it's buried a bit deeper, and the long stem isn't so visible.

They're pretty tough, so even a small piece will grow away very readily. If you're left with only small pieces, pot them up and keep them in a shady spot until they're thriving. They can then be planted out in a month or two.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
