Sorry everyone .... fingers too fast this morning. Supposed to say ‘plant ID’ 🙄 Can anyone identify the tall plant which is eclipsing my foxgloves? Also, my vipers bugloss blue bedder are getting leggy, can I pinch out the tops to make for bushier plants?  Thank all x

Thanks JF. I’ve just googled it and it does look the same. Apparently bees love so it’ll have to stay for now. Not sure if it spreads or not so I hope I don’t regret it. I guess as the bees love it, it doesn’t really matter does it?

Don’t let it seed ... you’ll have it everywhere ... and almost as soon as it’s got flowers the seeds are ripe and floating on the air like thistledown ... keep a close eye on it 😊

Oh, thanks Dove! Maybe I’ll pull it up then - I’ve only got a small garden and as it’s full of lavender, nepeta, hardy geranium, foxgloves and all manner of bee loving plants I think this ought to go. What do you think about the ‘blue bedder’ Dove, can I pinch the tops out? You know everything 😉

    Not quite everything 🤣
ive not tried cutting back the bugloss but I think that once the flowers are finishing and beginning to set seeds I’d cut them back and see if you get a second flush ... and let us know what happens 😊

Each willowherb can produce 100,000 seeds, so it's not really ideal for most garden situations  :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
