Fly (?) ID

This insect was being quite aggressive in the garden today, attacking several bumblebees. Anyone knows what it is? Thank you.

    Good photos pitter patter.
It is a bee fly, maybe Narcissus bulb fly?
t'interenet says it has many colour forms. Your does look like one of them. It has got fly eyes hasn't it?
On the Alamay photo stock thingy it has a couple that looks exactly the same. But sorry have not found a perfect match on a nature type site yet with the name to confirm it.
    Good Luck

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Thank you, @Rubytoo @BobTheGardener. I though it was very strange the way it was attacking bumblebees that were minding their own business.
