Hydrangea petiolaris

Potted this new Hydrangea petiolaris in a pot several months ago.  It was doing well but has recently developed discolouration.  It is in shade most of the day and gets a few hours of afternoon sun.  The compost feels moist but not wet.  Recent heavy rain has meant it has been sitting in water.  Could this be the problem?

  • Hope it's in a very big pot, they are quite rampant plants to try to grow in a pot. You can add some pot feet to help it drain, anyway, but they generally like being moist. The damage looks more environmental to me...wonder if the cold snap of a few weeks back and the strong winds affected the leaves.
