Re: cordyline problems

Hi all
I have a cordyline plant that is around 12 ft tall last year it started growing from the bottom up the top of the plant appears  to be dying also the bark is cracked and exposing thrg 
The inner bark , could anyone advise the best way to deal with these problems

    It looks like the top has been hit by a hard frost. If you want to keep it, I'd cut it off above the healthy bit at the bottom.
    IMHO the top can't be saved and you're just delaying the inevitable by leaving it.

    This happened to our's a few years ago. I cut it down and left it till the next year when I cut through the old trunk and removed some of the new growth with a good piece of root and stump with it and potted them up. 5 made it so kept 2 and gave 3 away they are growing well. The trouble is more are growing from the old stump and it's in a awkward place right behind the gate.
