What to do with my clematis
I have a group 2 clematis whose flower got completely sodden in the recent torrential rain we have had in the UK. In addition to this, the plant was growing up the back of some trellising, rather than the front.
I decided to cut all the manky blooms off and go for it and cut back where it had grown up the wrong side of the trellis. It now looks a complete mess (see picture). Will it be OK and grow back please? Is there any thing else I should do?

It's probably been a good opportunity to get the bulk of the plant where you want it. They can be treated as Group 3s anyway.
