Can I eat salad with signs of scletrotinia?

Hi,

I’m very new to gardening and wasn’t expecting much but have ended up with plenty of salad leaves. I noticed today that there are patches of fibrous, white mould on the soil and I think some leaves are beginning to wilt. I think it may be sclerotinia, probably because of the relentless rain?

I was planning to cut it all down tomorrow and make it into soup for the freezer before it rots, but wondered if this is safe due to possible infection? Some of the leaves are still looking very healthy.

Any advice would be very appreciated, as i’d be heartbroken to see it all rot away!

I’d eat the leaves, no problem.  But I might want a second course as not very big!
