Tomato plant has weird outgrowth...

Hi - I noticed these strange bumps on the stems of one of my tomato plants - they appear to be growing our like weird tendrils - this doesn't look healthy - what is it?

My plant is a Tumbling Tom hanging bush cherry tomato plant. This is the first season.

I've attached pictures.

Thanks!

Hi, it's perfectly normal and healthy. If you put soil around these bumps, it will grow roots from them, this is how tomatoes produce roots from stalks.

Oh thank you - I was worried that something was eating its way out of my plants ... I've been watching too much Chernobyl... :D

🤣 Its why when planting toms we bury them up to the first leaves each time, so there are plenty of roots.
