Type i have just got some small chilie lantern trees message bim going to put in pots to start but will they be ok in ericaceous compost any help please Audrey ...

Ericaceous compost is the right stuff for crinodendron, they want an acid soil.

+ plenty of rainwater ; dappled shade and shelter from drying cold winds is also a good idea .

Or full sun, mine are out in the open, sun all day and very windy, I don’t think they’re fussy. Both grown from seed originally.

Wherever you plant it bear in mind they grow huge, so give it plenty of room.
