is this a weed?

I picked up some round things that fell off a bush on a walk last year and planted the seeds inside them in a pot. They appear to be growing into light green leaves. Hopefully to be an impressive bush of some sort. But what is the long plant in the middle please? Is that a weed I should pluck out? Thank you.

The little ones look like they could be seedlings from a wild rose or rugosa rose.

What were the 'round things' like? Berries? Or firmer like a rose hip? Colour?
  • the round things were about 3 cm. I think red, or maybe the flowers in the bush were red and the round things green. I forgot now. There was lots of them fallen onto the pavement.

Could you go back and take a photo of the parent plant or for us?  Unless, of course, you prefer to just wait and see.  Did you use fresh compost?  If not, those seedlings could have grown from seed that was already in the soil and not the ones you sowed.

Zooming in they have the same look as the rugosa seeds I planted when they were small (and I thought I had sown Hellebore seeds  :#
  • Thanks for replies. I don’t really mind what the tiny leafs grow into. I just wandered if I should pull out the weed looking shoot
