Roe of bee or hornet

I have this insect in my garden, could any body tell me what you think this is?

I'd have a stab at volucella zonaria which is a hoverfly

    Definitely a fly.

Wasp eyes are almond shaped with the point pointing towards the wasp’s “nose” whereas flies’ eyes are more blobby like those big headphones that some people wear.

Not very scientific, but then I’m not a scientist.

Also, looking at wild edge’s link, you will see that the pattern of the veins on the wing are the same.
Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.

Which is good news, hoverflies eat aphids.
