ID, Please!

I found this growing in a shady but west facing part of my garden.  I suspect it's a bird or wind gift but could someone identify it, please!

    Possibly a vinca (periwinkle)

    I have a periwinkle that looks very similar to this, Zoe.  Perhaps the leaves are a little less rounded, though.  It has blue flowers, rather pretty too!

    My thought was also that it’s one of the vincas.

    Pete, Artemis and Dove, thank you very much for your posts.  I looked up vinca and I now feel pretty sure it is, though, as Artemis says, the leaves are slightly less rounded. 

    I look forward to its blue flowers!

    It is a bit of a spreader, putting out long stems which take root where they touch the ground ...
    i chop them back hard after flowering ... they grow fresh foliage and often bloom again too.
