Verbena bonariensis with powdery mildew

One of my Verbenas seems to have powdery mildew ☹ It's not new, has come up from last year and is grown on very dry, sandy soil.

Do I need to get shot and start again? Or if left can it spread to my neighbouring plants?

Thanks

It’s hard to avoid powdery mildew in dry seasons. If just make sure it (and the rest of garden) gets plenty of water.
If it’s so bad that it looks awful Id remove and bin the affected parts.

  • Thank you - can it spread?

There are specific types for specific groups of plants ... but there’s mildew spores floating around all over our gardens all the time.

Plants become susceptible to it when they’re stressed, most commonly by lack of water ... so keep your plants happy and they should stay healthy.
