Hi, I came across this plant in Winchester Abbey Gardens. It sort of looks like a crocosmia plant but its purple flower doesnt. Any idea what it is, i want it in my garden!

Its the European native gladiolus

Unfortunately, in my experience, a lot of the corms you buy seem to be a very wishy washy pink, rather than the vibrant colour of those shown.
There are ashtrays of emulsion,
for the fag ends of the aristocracy.
