The cornflower might be Black Ball, I’ve grown it from seed one year with a similarly coloured  scabious.

Thank you pitter-patter, very knowledgeable.  I have never heard of Hesperis matronalis, is it a rare plant?  I thought Cornflower only came in Cornflower blue colour, how many different colours are there?

The common name is sweet rocket. It’s not a rare plant, but wonderful nevertheless. Cornflowers come in many colours: reds, blues, pinks, purple, white.

The pale blue cornflower is the most common one around here, so I have learned something new today, brilliant!
