Moving Aconitum

rosie8032rosie8032 Posts: 5
hello.

I have a section in my garden I'm changing to grow veggies, the bed has got 2 Aconitums in it and they are very poisonous. I was wondering if the soil would need to be changed where they were growing. I don't really fancy extra poisonous spuds

Thanks everyone

Rosie.

The poisonous stuff doesn't leak out of the plant

Will you try to keep the aconitum, they are wonderful for the bees, this one had a bee in almost every flower.

Make sure you wear gloves and have long sleeves on whilst digging up the aconitum. I understand it's the roots that are most poisonous.

I’ve just potted on my babies, no gloves!
Edited to ad.... I wouldn’t lick my fingers just in case.

I think that's enough of a precaution, Lyn. All else is tabloid induced fear.
