is anyone able to help identify the variety of rhododendron in my new garden?

It looks like straight R.ponticum to me, I'm afraid... happy to be proved wrong though.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Sure looks like Rhododendron ponticum.
