Is this just a common blue butterfly ? Never had one in the garden all the same so I'm chuffed

The reason I ask is because in my book the blue butterflies have black edges on all 4 wings rather than 2 ??

No, it's a Holly Blue. A female.

We have a them in our garden, but i thought they were there because of the ivy. I didn't realise they were interested in our holly too.
In London. Keen but lazy.

In the spring they lay their eggs on holly, in summer on ivy.
