I did the same except the seeds must have travelled home on the soles on my boots. I'd bought some mulch from the garden centre and walked the dog along the river on the way home. This lovely flower appeared where I'd spread the mulch and I was very pleased until I found out what it is and destroyed it before the seeds ripened.
Some progess. Spoke to the nurseryman, and I'm convinced it's not Himalayan Balsam, but he now thinks it's Astilbe, which I doubt. He has replaced it with the Tiarella I asked for. I'll keep it to see what its flowers look like.
