watering bulbs?

In late April I planted various flower bulbs and am wondering if I need to continue watering the earth above them before they appear?

In the ground or in pots?

The former can be left to get in with it unless you get a heatwave or have very free draining soil.  In pots, they are entirely reliant on you for water and feeding and will first send out roots to anchor themselves and find nutrients in the compost before they start sending up their shoots.  They need water to do that well.

The bulbs are in the ground.
    Many thanks for your advise.
