Alchemilla looking sickly in the middle.

Hi guys,

I have some alchemilla mollis in a container which looks lovely on the outside but inside the plant it looks very yellow and sickly. Also some of the leaves and stems have gone brown. Is this normal?

Thanks

How long has it been in the pot and do you water it regularly?

Well it's only been in there about a month. I dug it up from someone's garden who didn't want it so I took it. It had a good soak when it first went in and the compost has been moist ever since. I did have to give it a good soak today though and it started to dry out.

It looks like a biggish clump, you can cut away bits and keep bits that are nice and healthy looking. Can't see the size of the pot, but it's fine to see dried up bits on the inside. They rejuvenate often throughout the year. Growing in a pot will mean you need to water it more often. You can always place them in somewhere shaded so they dry out less.

Have put it in the shade as you suggested so I will check to see if it perks up :)
