Plant identification

phildigphildig Posts: 55
Hello and thank you for reading this message.
We have recently moved home and this is the first spring there. A plant is emerging across the lawn. Would anyone be able to identify this plant please? Photo attached. Does not appear to be Japanese Knotweed which has pointed large leaves compared to this one with rounded tip and comparatively small leaves. Hopefully it's something normal and not invasive.
Thank you for reading.

    Hello and welcome  :)

Could we please see a photo of the plant as it is growing in the lawn ... the manner of growth gives a lot of clues.

    Hello Dovefromabove,
    Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I can take a photo after work today. The plant is spreading across the lawn like a horizontal creeper.

Isn't there a small convovulus that grows in grass?
    In London. Keen but lazy.

There is but I don’t think the leaves look like that 🤔

    Nasturtium?

And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

Leaf shape very different...round leaf...stalk in the centre.

    Hello Dovefromabove,
Thank you very much for your reply and for telling me what this plant is and for the link. The house here has been empty for five years before we moved in. This is the first spring for us here. To make the house look presentable, the estate agent cut back everything in the overgrown garden. So now whatever was there is beginning to come through for us to deal with!
Thank you again for your reply.
