Allium not developing this year

I have Allium Globemaster and Ambassador planted in the same bed as White Giant - this year the WG is developing really well but the AG and AA are all leaves with no flowers developing.  The AG/AM  have been in the ground for about 4 years as have the WG and until this year had no problem with repeat flowering.

I also have AG and AM in my back garden and they are almost dead. 

Does anyone have any idea about why this has happened (apart from old age of some of the bulbs)

Thank you Astrro - very useful.  It seems I am not the only one with the problem.
