We saw this beautiful pink display when we on the River Weaver on our Narrowboat holiday recently. I have "googled" but could not find anything similar.  Has anyone any ideas?!

It does look Astilbe like or Aruncus there are some other plants with that kind of flower, can't remember what they are called. Not sure about the pink colouring though.

Was it a plant or a shrub?

If you do not have a clearer picture can you give more details please.
    How tall was it?
In a garden or on the river bank?

Hope you had a nice narrowboat holiday :)

Thanks for all of your comments.  We also thought it looked like the Astilbe, but not on this scale.  The pictures we took were sadly a bit blurred!  It was on the River Bank Rubytoo, and it was at least 6ft tall, it really stood out against the white Hawthorn.  Here are a couple of other pics!
  • Could it could it be Tamerix?
  • Sorry wrong spelling it should read Tamarix

Well done Chrissy and many thanks :) I have goggled Tamarix and it is definitely the same plant.  It looked spectacular along the river bank!

:DWell done for spotting it let alone spelling. I have to think twice as I always think risk and not rix.
Sue it does look as you say, spectacular, and must be hard taking photos on a wobbly boat, in holiday mode :D
