TOMATO SEEDS

i have some tomato seeds left from this year.next year they will be three years old,
can i still use them or am i better buying new ones.

    I'm using seed that is three years old,  a black tomato heritage seed,  and the plants are two foot tall already. As long as they are kept in a cool dry dark place, mine are in a chocolates tin, they should be fine. I've still got some for next year too.

    I’ve used saved seed that was nearly 20 years old ... good germination and cropping.  No problems. 

    Tomato seeds are one of the ones that seem to remain viable for almost ever if stored in cool dry conditions.

    Packets of seed last me for years, I only need about 3 seeds from each packet. 
    I’ve not long finished  a packet my dad had started dated 1995.

    It must be better for all concerned if we dump food and go out and buy more😱
