Sorry Looking Damson

I have a young Damson (bought last autumn) which is fruiting but has next to no leaves and the leaves it does have are suffering with curl.  It is flanked by a healthy apple and a healthy plum and the previous inhabitant of its position suffered with root damage.  The soil was treated for weevil and the trees either side appear unaffected.  No real sign of aphid or caterpillar damage, new leaves coming through but emerging curled.  Fruits all appear to be growing as expected.  Peach leaf curl in the vicinity but not close enough to be an issue and trees either side all clear.  Can anyone please shed any light?  I really don't want to loose another fruiter.

Tree either side of the damson look great & the ground was treated for vine weevil last year.
