Would anyone happen to know what shrub this is please? It is currently in bloom in my son's garden in the west of Ireland, is about 12 ft tall, is fragrant, and is in a woodland area. I thought it might be Clethra, but I believe Clethra doesn't grow as tall and also doesn't flower until late summer. I'm a bit stuck!
Many thanks

Looks like cherry to me. Possibly the wild variety.

Thank you both...bird cherry it is! I think it was the fact it was so fragrant that sent me off on a tangent.
