What Type of Tree?

Hello,

First post here, and first time with a garden. We have a tree in our new build house garden, no idea what type it is, and the leaves seem to be being devoured. Can anyone tell me what type of tree it is please? And what, if anything, I should do to protect it?

    Hard to say for sure what is your tree because the leaves are quite damaged. It does look like a Rowan tree though. Best to take a photo of the shape of whole tree or more branches. Have you seen any flowers on it yet?
