buds on my rhododendron not opening

my rhododendrons is covered in buds but they are not opening They seem to have white patches on them and are sticky I haven't seen any pests on them though Please help

The photo you put up looks fine to me. Make sure your shrub is well watered. Especially if grown in a pot. Sometimes, buds can fail to open due to dry soils late in the year. But, I think your ones still look healthy.
