Can anyone tell me why one of my rhubarb plants is growing a large centre stem and just
a few short low veg.

    May be that it is developing a flower stem....

    small centre flower eary that i broke off, but has  more than tripled in size.

    If it is flowering, cut off the flower stem and keep it well watered.
