I'm very new to gardening and seem to be finding things popping up in my border that resemble weeds.

Could anyone confirm?

    the second one might be nigella, love-in-a-mist

    The first might be some type of poppy. 
    Ill second nigella for No 2

    Pics 1, 4 & 5 are various kinds of poppy.  2 & 3 looks like nigella and cosmos.  There are three Fat hen (Chenopodium album) weed seedlings surrounding the Opium poppy (Papaver somniferum) in pic1. 
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
