What is this flower?

Hi All,

I bought this plant a few years ago and I thought I knew what it was. However it's far bigger (50-60cm tall, about 1m spread) than anywhere says that should be, so now I'm not sure.

Any suggestions?

I think you'll find it's a cistus.

my first thought was C. ladanifer.

Thanks all for the quick responses. It's definitely one of those two (I'm leaning towards Jenkyn Place as the blotchy is more purple than red and the flowers last a while) and very different to the 'wrong' card I'd found.

It does look beautiful when it's in full flower and now I know how to look after it properly.

It also looks like Cistus 'Alan Fradd' - dunno what the difference is!
