Daffodils & Tulip Bulbs

KatstezKatstez Posts: 19
Hi, can I please ask if it is ok to cut the stems down on the tulips and daffodils yet as they have all finished flowering or is it too early.
Also is it better to leave the bulbs in or take them out. Thank you.

when flowering has finished leave foliage for 4 to 6 weeks before cutting to give bulbs enough energy to flower next year  :)

I think most of us leave our bulbs in the ground;I do.  If you water them during dry spells until the foliage is gone, the daffodils will come back year after year, and the bulbs will multiply.  Most tulips perform less well in the second year and hardly at all in the third.  If you plant species or perennial tulips, they will behave like daffodils.  The flowers tend to be smaller and less showy, but they are much better value!
