Bad pruning cut, Prunus serrula

I've really buggered this cut up haven't I? :(

Tried to correct a ragged cut and ended up too close to the branch. Will the branch survive?

It might survive, but in my opinion it will be hugely weak and will eventually break.  Best to encourage a new lateral further down.

If I cut cleanly below the cut I already made, there's a shoot just below that which would take over. Should I do it now? I'll try not to get so close next time.

See what others say, but I would.  And not so close and no need for such an extreme angle.

Thanks Helix, happier with the second attempt.

This will teach me not to try out new secateurs for the first time on a valuable plant! I assumed being new that they'd be nice and sharp...
