Hi all corsairles here once more can someone please tell me the name of this plant. I did know the name but I can't for the life of me remember, this old age doesn't help. Thank you
Thank you Rubytoo since posting the question I have had an email from Thomas Morgan website and it looks like its a Magnolia not sure which variety though but thanks anyway.
If you put white into the search on the above site they have various types you could match the flower shape and size and shrub size, and see if you can find the right leaf and flower shape?
I am not familiar enough but noted yours is a fairly simple shape whereas some are very ruffled. Some have a blotch of colour on the top petals while others are plain. Hope that helps.
Trying to id Rhodo's and Azalea accurately is hard...bit like Roses. There are many that can look very similar. Even Rhodo experts often struggle to agree when the plant is right in front of them. Size. shape. markings of flowers, time of flowering....evergreen or deciduous, leaf shape, inudendum, colour of petals in bud need to be added to the equation. We grew many and I would hate to try to attempt an id for this.
Rubytoo ...I can say for sure it is not Rhododendron Cunningham's White. It a large, evergreen Rhododendron with 10 stamen. Huge multiheaded clusters of flowers.

Sorry don't know which one but I do like it, it's pretty.
It is definitely a Rhododendron...one commonly called Azalea.
All Azaleas are Rhododendrons...BUT not all Rhododendrons are Azaleas.
Azalea flowers usually have five stamens, while the Rhododendron flowers have ten.

Corsairles ....Pic above, clearly show 5 stamen...therefore one classed as Azalea.
I suspect it is deciduous.
