Palm

Hi everybody, two questions… Firstly, does anybody know what this is? I’ve always assumed it’s a “European fan palm”… but not quite sure. Bought it some years ago from a garden centre back in the days when I didn’t really pay attention to what things actually were and just liked the way they looked!

So my other question was whether I should be cutting off the shabbier looking leaves as there are new sets opening up and unfolding which are fresher and nicer looking?

Does look like Chamaerops humilis (European Fan Palm) from that angle ; is it a solitary trunk or does it appear to be multi-stemmed ?
Remove old leaves as necessary ; no harm done .
