Does anyone know what these two are?

These were given to me and planted last summer. The second one was quite a size when planted and I thought it had died over winter, but it's just started growing again.

    The second one is a persicaria, not sure which one.They are herbaceous so will die down over winter.   The first is possibly a skimmia, a shrub, but not sure so wait for others to chip in.

    The Persicaria is P. microcephala, probably 'Red Dragon'
    I agree Skimmia on the other, they always look sick and yellow to me

    Thank you both. Now you mention it, 'Red Dragon' rings a bell. I'm certain that's the one!
