Dianthus help please

Hi all, I never have any luck growing garden pinks and I do love them. Will be trying again this year. Is there anything I can do to help them succeed? Tried in pots to no avail so planning to put them into the ground. Any advice welcome thanks

I can’t grow them either, well, I have lots of the Deltoid types but not the carnations. Either they don’t like my acid soil or I’m rubbish at growing them😀

I think it's the acid soil - I can't grow them either, though I could in a previous garden!

My soil is only very slightly acid and I've had clumps of Mrs Sinkins dianthus for many years. Even when other plants are wilting in the heat/drought the dianthus seem to thrive on it
