Loquat

Hi! My husband cut our 20 feet loquat tree, and he didn’t want to wait until all fruit was gone. Honestly, we never ate the fruit, the tree was there when we bought our property.
The only way to trim it, was to cut it down to 8’ and left no limbs.  Should we cut it down lower wanting it to only be 7-10’ high when it grows, and should I do something else with it?
Thank you for your time!

Loquats can take a hard pruning, but that is pretty severe! Well it will either survive or it won't, so you may as well go ahead and prune it back another couple of feet. If it does recover, do some light pruning after fruiting to keep it under future control.

I agree.  That’s about all we can do. Thank you so much!
