Bad brown dry leaves

I've got a hydrangea which is about 7 years old and the past 2 weeks the leaves have gone brown. Is this frost damage ? Do hydrangea suffer from frost damage ? It's all over the plant

    I'm afraid they do Marc.
If they're the mophead type, people often leave the dead flower heads on until spring, which gives some frost protection to the buds developing underneath.
Dry, cold winds can also cause the sides of leaves to crisp too
