Should I leave this spike to flower, or pinch it off so that the plant bushes out...? Thanks.

    I think it should come off, it’s only a very small spike, so won’t look much when it does open, as you say, the plant can build up a bit more.

    Put it in a vase, it may open indoors so you can see the colour.
