Lilacs: How far from the plant do the suckers spread?

Hello

I'm planning to plant a common lilac in a flower bed that has been dug in the lawn. I understand that as the Lilac grows new shoots/suckers will appear around the base of the plant.

I wondered how big the flower bed will need to be so that suckers do not appear in the surrounding lawn? How far from the base of the plant will the furthest suckers emerge?

I found that the suckers seem to get suckers and it spreads along in a line
