Plant ID

Hello, I was wondering is anyone may be able to tell me what this plant/tree is. I was given this  - it was thought that it was an Abutilon megapotamicum,
and I meant to plant it last autumn, but didn’t get round to it. Since then it’s grown and I realise it’s not an abutilon. Would really appreciate if anyone would be able to help ID this. Thank you.

I’m leaning towards a brich of some sort but I’m not sure.
  • I think I'd agree, Birch or possibly Alder at a pinch

Thank you Yorkshirerose and PaulB3, I thought it looked like it. could it be a silver birch you think?

More than likely ! They don't develop the white bark until later .
I planted four tiny 'whips' in 1990 in my garden ; they're now 50+ foot stunners with beautiful silvery bark .
    Excellent wildlife tree also .
    Look after it !
