Seedlings shooting on.

We are growing ipomoea from seed for the first time after being inspired by GW. We haven’t grown anything from seed before and it is still a bit too chilly to plant these outside but they are shooting along in their little pots inside. Has anyone got any advice what we should do? Should we leave them be, put them outside now, or snip the ends off them. Grateful for any advice. :-)

Pot them on into bigger pots and give them some canes to climb up.

Im sowing mine this weekend ... voice of experience 😉

They need to come out of those tiny little pots, pot into 4”  pots, square ones if possible,  the white on the edges of the leaves looks like they’ve been a bit cold.

Ah, I might sow some more this weekend whilst focusing on the best of the current batch too. The rest might go to plant heaven aka ‘the compost bin’. thank you for advice.  😊

I treat mine the same as I treat my runner beans. They need similar temperatures 😊

Now you’re getting technical on us! 😉 Raised veg beds are phase 2 for us but we will def be growing our own.

If you can grow morning glory you can grow runner beans 😋

I sow runner beans on the 1st May, whatever the weather, then plant out on the 1st June,  on the same day I sow the parsnips seeds. (1st June that is)

I sowed two lots of Glories 5 days ago. One pack of seeds was really old so I wasn't expecting much...we'll the old ones germinated after 3 days and the new ones are showing too. I know here in the NE they can't go outside before early June, I lost all of them a few years ago. I'll keep these going as best I can but definitely a May sowing next year. Good luck growers.
