Trellis issue.

I was given this plant last July (2018). It came with a small trellis and the plant has grown around the trellis. I would like to, and probably need to,  increase the height of the trellis but I'm not sure of the proper way to do so. Also, I live in Spain just north of Alicante and would appreciate any other advice as to taking care of this plant.
Please advise and thanks.   See attached photo.

It looks like a Stephanotis Floribunda.  They prefer a warm humid area so best grown in a conservatory. There are many ways to support it. Long canes or hoops or a carefully placed trellis frame behind it. All depends on how big you want it to grow. A metal style frame might be better suited indoors.

You can feed them in the summer months with a high potash feed, and mist the leaves to keep moisture in the air. I hope your pot has drainage holes. A good idea would be standing your pot in a tray of pebbles that is kept damp, to help keep a humid condition.

Yes, they do grow. Here is one in Hawaii.

And here is one in my conservatory here in UK, which has underfloor heating. It grows all year round and flowers from time to time.

They can’t tolerate frost but are otherwise very easy to grow. Mine produced a seedpod two years ago, which took a year to ripen, and I now have four baby plants.

Yours needs a bigger pot. The support I gave mine is a metal hoop - the type that props up tall perennials in a flowerbed - about a metre tall and half a metre across.

Of course if you live in a frost-free place you can grow it outside.
Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
