I thought this was honesty so let it grow in this shady spot where not much else is happy - apart from the Solomon's Seal you can see in the pic.  Now I have Honesty out elsewhere i can see it's larger and hairier.  It spreads quickly rooting along the way.  Before I pull it up, anyone know what it is?

depends upon your point of view. When does a wild flower become a weed?
It's a form of lamium ( dead nettle ) it spreads rapidly by underground stems, I'd have it out ASAP before it spreads any further.

We have lots of it, I dont particualrly mind it and just pull it out when it is where I dont want it to be, but it is fairly invasive so if wildflowers arent your thing its probably best to deal with it sooner rather than later

Looks to me like Stachys sylvatica aka Hedge woundwort ... to its leaves smell acrid when crushed?

It’s Stacey’s sylvatica, or Hedge Woundwort. A wild flower. It has quite pretty purple flowers but a strange smell.  I used to leave it in my previous large wild garden.

I would have this everywhere if I did it keep on top of it, it’s everywhere, as soon as I go out there I can smell it, I think it stinks,  can smell it from a mile away!

Thanks for the ID, having looked it up I've got it in a few places but caught it before letting it flower.  Shame it isn't Honesty but maybe I'll manage it rather than obliterating it since it's in a spot next to path.  I like to see wild flowers but if it outgrows it's welcome ... ! 😉
