What to do with old tree trunk / tall stump

We we moved into our house a year and a half ago - this tree had been chopped down many years before (don’t know why). It is briefly beautiful when the rose flowers, but not so much the rest of the time. Don’t really want to remove it completely because of the roots under the lawn, but stumped (😂) for an imaginative way to make it more attractive. Best idea to date is chop it down to a reasonable height & plonk a bird feeder on top. Any suggestions?

If the rose only flowers for a brief time either add another with a longer/different flowering period or replace the existing rose with a longer flowering variety.  Also look for other climbers to add which could extend the flowering period.  Any good nursery or even some Garden Centres will be able to advise.
