Lupins

I have an established beautiful, yellow Lupin growing in a patio tub.  It now seems that it's outgrowing the tub so I want to transfer to a larger one before it flowers which won't be til the summer.  Have I Ieft it too late to re-home?? The last one I rehomed in the Autumn and it didn't produce a single shoot the following spring, leaves/flowers.... Nothing.  I had killed it!!   PLEASE ADVISE.

If you keep the rootball intact it won't notice the move, just put in a larger pot and trickle compost round it
