Mouldy gauntlets

B3B3 Posts: 10,030
My gauntlets were left in a damp place and got a white powdery mould/ mildew.
I dried them naturally and they're still quite soft and wearable. Should I rub olive oil or something on them? Just brush the powder off? Or do nothing?
Thanks

If the insides are clean just use them. Depends what you use them for I suppose.  Oil on the outside will just help any grub stick to them.
I'd go for nothing TBH :D

If they are leather might be worth giving them a feed with some boot polish over night just to keep them supple, my brother who does a lot of hedge laying uses dubbing on his occasionally and his leather apron

Thanks. I won't use OO but I might try the shoe polish. Thanks.
I hope I don't catch mildew off them!
