Sowed these last Tuesday

I sowed these last Tuesday and forgot them till yesterday when there didn't seem to be anything coming through. When I can in earlier I looked through the cover and thought the lot had gone mouldy. Imagine my surprise when I took the plastic bag of to find this. I always through Parsley took at least 2 weeks to germinate.

I think Parsley likes to confound us ... mind you ... Ma used to say “where parsley thrives they’re ruled by wives” ... she always said she couldn't grow it, but I remember boiled bacon, mashed potato,  broad beans and parsley sauce as a fixture in her kitchen repertoire, eh @WonkyWomble? 😉

I read the same thing in Titchmarsh's kitchen garden book. We had a bumper crop of parsley last year :|

My basil is also up by the same amount will sow more in about a month as we use both herbs a lot here. Tomato seedlings have got very leggy but will have to plant then deep. The fun and games of gardening. Do you think it would be OK to put the tomato's and other plants out into the cold frame, I could put some polystyrene inside as I have a roll of it in the shed.

That if the woman of the house can grow parsley then she rules the house if she can it the man. Think it wrong somewhere as I can grow it but my OH rule lol.

Dove, I'm shuddering whilst having flashbacks to Grandma's cooking! ugh!!!!! I believe I even wrote to Jim'll fix it to get him to send grandma on a cruise so I wouldn't have to stay there! Turned me down!!!! Hmm probably for the best but thank goodness you learned to cook unlike your mother....all I can say is Grandpa must have loved her very much!

My Nan always said” parsley goes 7 times to the devil before it comes up” assume that means it’s hard to germinate?
